Raise your hand if you are burnt out TIRED.
I know, I’m too tired to raise my hand as well.
It’s only day two of a four day work week!
I didn’t even DO anything to burn out today! Wait, did I?
Ha! Look at that. Even my brain is fried.
It’s February, and though many of us are burning the candle at both ends, our resolve to do many normal things seems as frozen as the ground.
Lift weights at the gym? I couldn’t possibly!
Clean out the guest room closet? Another time, daaaahling.
As for me, all I feel like doing tonight is curling up under this blanket and dreaming of my songs while watching my favorite movie, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” So, that’s just what I’m going to do.
I love the character Holly Golightly and how she becomes who she is in the story, but I love Audrey Hepburn even more. She is a lovely example of what grace under fire looks like without getting burned. I often find myself trying to fan the flames of the day and many times, I’m a smoky mess, although my mind imagines myself in graceful arabesque and pirouette like Sister Audrey, the silly flames tickling at my toes. A pretty thought, but please don’t make me do it. Not today, daaahling.

Reverie and Rhyme 
This takes me back. Way, way back. To my sixth grade self, sitting at the piano, learning to play “Moon River” and singing along happily – although I think I mostly liked the song because it had the word “huckleberry” in it. As in Huckleberry Hound, that awesome cartoon dawg I loved! Still – I learned the lyrics and the tune stuck with me and I find myself enjoying it on a whole different level. Thankfully!

Aaaaawww! I love sixth grade you playing this on the piano! I need to learn it. I sing it to Johnny Boy a lot! This song is one of my ‘happy places.’
